Helpful information
About Galway
City
of the Tribes, is a medieval city dating back to the 5th century. A thriving and
vibrant artistic community, the home base of the International renowned Macnas
and Druid Theatre company.
A whirlwind of activity with Art galleries, old book shops, pubs, restaurants,
theatre, arts, culture, and traditional Irish music. All centred in the narrow
streets bustling with activity and friendly people.
Enjoy great shopping, the city is proud to offer an array of shops to cater for
all tastes. The Canal walkways, the salmon fishing at the salmon weir bridge and
the meeting of the sea and river bed between long walk and the old fishing
village of the Claddagh create a peaceful escape from all the bustle.
